The BenchBuddy biodegradable seat cushion has been developed by Grand Terrain Products of South Bend, Indiana. The materials are manufactured in Midwestern United States and shipped to us, where the remainder of manufacturing takes place locally at Michiana Goodwill Industries, helping to provide opportunities for individuals who have special needs.
We also offer die-cutting services, and can manufacture our product to accommodate an assortment of size and shape requirements.

The BenchBuddy cushion material is made from renewable agricultural resources that naturally mix well with the environment when disposed of. The durable outer slip-cover material is compostable, and meets all of the critical standards outlined by the Biodegradable Products Institute (www.bpiworld.org), and displays their symbol of approval.

At the end of its useful live cycle, the BenchBuddy will safely decompose within a relatively short period of time without leaving any negative affects toward the environment. We feel our cushion is a better alternative to other products that lay dormant in a landfill for hundreds of years.

The standard BenchBuddy seat cushion is readily available for quick shipping to our customers. We also sell the BenchBuddy for fundraising and promotional purposes, and can add screen printed graphics. Our unique product combines state-of-the-art biodegradable organic chemistry, to create the world's only environmentally-friendly seat cushion made from these carefully selected modern materials that have been developed for improving product sustainability.
The one inch thick inner resilient cushion material is manufactured using Green Cell Foam, which is a biodegradable engineered foam. It is a proprietary, non-toxic, environmentally safe material that includes annually renewable agricultural resources (corn, rice, soy, potato...) as its main ingredients. It exhibits nature-friendly characteristics that allow it to break down into miniscule particles when discarded, very similar to a corn muffin.

We don't recommend you eat if for breakfast, but it is safe and non-toxic, and can be recycled, buried in the ground, disposed of in a landfill, or composted in a commercial, municipal, or campus composting facility.

This cushion material meets standards for biodegradability set by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), where it facilitates ISO 14000 Certification by demonstrating a commitment to Continual Environmental Improvement.
The polyethylene-free, outer protective cover is constructed using Eco Film. This film exhibits superior mechanical properties (strength), environmentally friendliness (compostability), and desirable user life (product longevity), which is a drawback of other biodegradable films. The use of Eco Film results in a resilient seat cushion cover that is durable and comfortable, and provides long-lasting service to its user, as an alternative to sitting directly on hard seating surfaces.

When buried in soil or recycled by composting, the entire BenchBuddy product will safely biodegrade within a short period of time, where it will serve as a natural food source for microorganism's that live in the earth's soil. This product causes no adverse effects on human health or plant life and complies with ASTM D6400 commercial composting standards. It has the approval of the Biodegradable Product Institute and bears their symbol of approval.

The BenchBuddy is durable, comfortable, lightweight to carry, and is cost affective, making it an attractive choice for fundraising and promotional purposes.
